Our sister company, Tyremen, is proud to have recently joined TyreSafe, one of the UK’s leading tyre safety organisations. It’s a great organisation and one which Tyremen is delighted to be involved with as they are keen to help improve tyre safety on UK roads.

As we’ve mentioned in our previous blog post, having a legal tyre is really important, not just to keep on the right side of the law, but to also ensure you’re not putting your life in danger. Testing your tyres is simple and quick – not to mention something that could potentially save your life! TyreSafe actively promotes tyre safety and they’re dedicated to raising the awareness of the dangers of illegal tyres.

There are various ways that you can check your tyres, this includes carrying out the TyreSafe 20p test.  Another important check is your tyre pressure. If you’re unsure of what your pressure should be, TyreSafe has a great online Tyre Pressure Checker which tells you by simply entering your car registration number.

TyreSafe is the first port of call for any tyre safety questions – they advise people about the safety of winter tyres, truck tyres, van tyres, caravan tyres, motorbike tyres and also general tyre safety. They do this because there are so many accidents that take place on the roads every year that could be avoided by simply ensuring your tyres are safe.

Phil Carlin, director of Tyremen said: “We are very proud to be TyreSafe members and look forward to working closely with the organisation as they educate the motoring public about the importance of proper tyre maintenance.

“Of course, we have particular knowledge of winter tyres, which we are more than happy to share with TyreSafe. We will do anything we can to work closely with them to help make our roads a safer place.”

TyreSafe has successfully helped to reduce the amount of people that have been seriously injured or killed every year through a tyre related accident by 30%. Their work has really helped to improve the safety on the road and we urge other tyre dealers to join and help the cause.
